BAYFEST Youth Theatre’s mission is to “Develop the Extraordinary Potential of Youth through Dramatic and Active Arts.” Since our incorporation in 1990, we have been dedicated to providing artistic and educational programs that bring together participants from diverse backgrounds for intensive but fun drama-based programs that have the embedded goals of addressing important social and educational issues and building life skills.

About BAYFEST School-Year Student Performance Workshops

BAYFEST’s school-year Student Performance workshop programs are designed to enhance the students’ educational experience by engaging them and their imaginations in new ways of perceiving and learning. We design each program to meet the specific needs of the school, class, or program, frequently with curricular and/or school values tie-ins. All programs culminate in performances, from in-class presentations to all-school productions.

About K-12 Educator Professional Development programs

BAYFEST trains K-12 teachers to incorporate curriculum-linked and standards-aligned kinesthetic, drama, movement and arts activities into their classrooms to meet different learning styles, enliven their teaching, and build classes into stronger, mutually-supportive ensembles for learning.  These workshops are flexibly designed to meet the needs and schedules of teachers and schools, and can be focussed on any grade level or curriculum area, from Language Arts to STEM. See what teachers and administrators have said HERE.

About the BAYFEST Summer Intensive

Since 1990, BAYFEST has provided intensive theatre training and cultural enrichment to groups of talented young performers, aged 14 – 21, from across the US, Canada, Great Britain, and elsewhere. They have come from the widest possible range of social and cultural backgrounds, most with scholarship assistance. They have lived in each others’ homes; they have worked long hours rehearsing and performing productions from Shakespeare to musicals to company-devised movement and acting pieces; they have laughed and cried with each other and the BAYFEST staff and teachers, and in many cases, they say their lives have been changed.
